WOW! Never have I thought of The Trojan Wars like this, this book is awesome and I found myself hurrying
to the next page. Trojan Gold is well written and it flowed smoothly. I also got a quick review of the Trojan
War through Ms. Summers mind. I found myself laughing and crying as I read of Helle's fate and I cheered at
the end! Ms. Summers will have readers hooked once they have read this book, and Ms. Summers? If you
are listening, could we have sequels? This one should be a keeper readers!
Helle is an old woman who fled her home after a destroys marriage. Her father had raised her as if she was
a boy, teaching her simple math and how to use a sword. He often bragged to his friends that she was just
as good as her brothers and wagered that she could beat any of their sons. Soon after she showed her first
signs of being a woman, he quickly married her off to a man his age and a drunk no less! Their wedding
night he took her savagely and beat her. It was then that Helle killed him, and she would have taken her life
as well except for the tiny life she knew she carried in her womb. Helle's family disowned her and she fled to
the city of Troy where she became a nanny. The Greeks made a sneak attack on Troy and now it was all in
ruins. The Royal family is gone and Prince Hector is dead while trying to defend the city. Helle walks with a
stick and is hunched over everyone she has known is either dead or missing, and as she makes her way
home she walks over the dead bodies but she cries for the infants that were thrown over the wall to die a
slow death. The city is in chaos and no one helps the babies. Oh to be younger when she could have
helped but now she is old and can barely take care of herself, that was when her walking stick should her that
one of the babies was alive!
Apollo, sun god and patron of Troy has given up on ever finding a mate, he was the butt of jokes running
around Olympus because every woman he loved had toyed with him and rejected his affection but fate or his
father Zeus must have had some reasons by telling him to look for a woman named Helle, and when she
opens to door he she is an old woman! The more Apollo looks at her the more he sees into her soul and he
remembered that she had gone to his temple everyday to clean his altar. Apollo touched her chest and knew
that she was selfless because he knew that she was hiding the young prince. Days became weeks and still
Apollo watched her become younger and younger thanks to the gift his father had given her. Yet, Helle
appeared to not know that she was a beautiful young woman as she just went about making a home for the
young price and teaching him math. As weeks met week, Apollo knew that he had fallen in love yet again
and he looked around to see if Cupid had sent an arrow zinging his way. But all was not peaceful at
Olympus as Queen Hera find out the boy had lived and Hera wanted the lineage of Priam to die and that
included him!

City of Troy - After the fall
The old woman walks through the dead bodies crying over all the children lying on the ground after being
thrown from the cliffs above. Each body broken, no sound...except for one. She finds a child still alive, no
injuries from the fall; he is none other than Astyanax, the son of Prince Hector. Helle makes sure the Greek
soldiers are gone, then she takes the child and hides him away hoping to keep him safe. Her brave deed is
rewarded when she is visited by the god Apollo and he bestows upon her youth and vitality to care for the
young Prince. Helle dreams nightly of the handsome golden man, Apollo, and his kisses and caresses upon
her body. But are they dreams or reality?
Apollo falls instantly for the beautiful Helle. Though she is an old woman when they first meet, her inner
beauty calls to him and when he touches her with Zeus' blessing, she is a sight to behold. Apollo shows her
the secret trojan gold that will one day belong to the young prince and help him rebuild Troy. Instead of taking
all the golden shells he leaves for her, Helle takes only one. Each visit he proclaims how beautiful she is and
he realizes she hasn't got a clue that she is young and vibrant again. He gifts her with a mirror and is amazed
at her gratitude and radiant smile. The more time he spends watching over Helle and Astyanax, the more
Apollo falls in love with this mortal woman. However, Hera has found out that Prince Hector's son still lives
and now both Helle and Astyanax are in trouble. Will Apollo be able to save them?
TROJAN GOLD is a wonderfully written romance peppered with the history of Troy. Apollo knows he cares
deeply for Helle but is afraid that she will turn out like Cassandra -- the woman he thought he loved -- and that
is a hindrance at first. But he soon overcomes that obstacle and finds that each moment spent with Helle
grows into a deeper love. Helle is a tigress at heart and protects Astyanax with everything she's got. She
also teaches him about his heritage and all that goes with being the son of a prince. With Helle, what you see
is what you get, and I liked her from the very first moment. Sex between Helle and Apollo starts out in dreams
but the reality is hot, hot, hot! Secondary characters are few and include young Astyanax, who is as
protective of Helle as Apollo himself, Zeus, Hera, Poseidon and a couple of other gods, which keeps things
interesting.
With well-developed characters and an interesting storyline, Sultry Summers’ TROJAN GOLD is a very
enjoyable read.

Trojan Gold by Sultry Summers
Trojan Gold
by: Sultry Summer
When I was younger, I fell in love with the Iliad. It has been many years since I sat
down and read it, but this book has renewed that love. It’s speculative that Sultry
Summers captured the level of the original myths, but she also gives it a more modern
taste. She also did her homework, bringing out the Gods and Goddesses. Even
allowing me to see them in a new light. Sultry is a great writer who, draws you into her
book and shows you a world through new eyes. I truly enjoyed reading this book.
I give it 5 Delightful Divas.

Trojan Gold was briefly presented several years
ago with a press that did not stand long. I am
pleased to see it re-issued with Whiskey Creek
Press considering the reviews it earned were so
good and the readers enjoyed it so much. At that
time the movie TROY was very popular and
with that in mind I've added to the Mythology
section a brief on the Trojan war.
However below are the reviews Trojan Gold
earned, now with Whiskey Creek Press I am
pleased to present a more refined version.
